Citizens Forum - 2007 Bill of Rights Celebration

A Free Public Forum To Introduce

Citizens of Winnsboro To Your Bill of Rights

While many issues face the people in our nation and state, we have time for only four to be openly discussed by the candidates for the 2008 Presidential Election. Listed below are the questions that will be put to each individual. Why not print this out and answer the questions yourself and then listen to the answers given by the campaign office of each Presidential hopeful.

1]         The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an influential, independent, and nonpartisan foreign policy membership organization founded in 1921, what role should such influential organizations play in the policy making of your presidency? What’s your relationship with them?

2]         It is obvious that most communities in our Nation have been affected by the continuing war on the Middle East, our sons and daughters are stationed in foreign lands (some on their 3rd or 4th tours) this is called “the war on terror.” In relation to the war on terror, what do you see as your role as President, as Commander in Chief?

3]         In consideration of the tragic events involving the use of guns by citizens “out of control,” what will be your presidential solution to these acts of public violence? What are your thoughts on more people being armed for self-defense?

4]         Do you agree that millions of undocumented Mexican workers, especially those who march in protest against our government, and who raise their own flag above our own, present a clear and present danger to the security of Americans and those Mexicans who have come here legally?  What impact are illegal workers having on our country?

Our format is simple and straight forward. Private citizens have been publicly solicited in print and audio to become  not a spokesman but a "representative". As the Representative, they have presented these questions to  the different  Presidential Campaign Headquarters for answers. Each "Representative" has received in writing an answer  that they will in turn present (read) to those assembled in the public audience December 15th. The content of the answer is private to the "Representative" with no public disclosure before the public forum.

Each "Representative" will have the questions asked of them and time allocated to read the answer, uninterrupted except for the time allocation. This is a non-partisan educational forum specifically designed to allow the public to learn of the intent of each major candidate. No "Representative" will be allowed to rebut or answer a rebuttal unless that "Representative" is a bone fide party representative, such as the Political Party County Chairman or the like.

The results of the forum will be invigorating to the public and a clear, uninterrupted presentation of each responding candidates' position on the topics given will be released to the press.
